'Wedding of the century' as Umar Kamani weds Nada Adelle - and Mariah Carey sings at star-studded party

It has been billed the "wedding of the century" as Manchester fashion entrepreneur Umar Kamani tied the knot with love Nada Adelle at a lavish multi-million pound celebration in the South of France this weekend.

The happy couple were joined by a galaxy of superstars including supermodel Naomi Campbell, footballer Rio Ferdinand, Boyzone star Ronan Keating and boxer Anthony Joshua. Friends and family, including many of whom jetted over from Manchester, were treated to a full weekend of celebrations.

The wedding was held at the spectacular five star Hotel-Du-Cap Eden Roc resort in the South of France. And it featured surprise superstar performances from Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli.

Umar, 36, is the founder of Manchester's Pretty Little Thing fashion label, while Nada, 31, is a model and fashion influencer. Their wedding celebration came three years after they announced their engagement.

The epic four day wedding party saw guests invited to a number of themed events, starting with a poolside welcome event where the dress code was all white for Day 1 on the Riviera.

Guests included Manchester's showbiz Thomas brothers Ryan, Adam and Scott, who posted photos at the pool party in their all-white ensembles. Adam was joined by wife Caroline and posted that they were "living a fairytale" at the wedding weekend.

Meanwhile former Corrie star Ryan was joined by TV star wife Lucy Mecklenburgh who shared her joy at the event in a series of instagram posts across the weekend. Dancing on Ice champ Ryan was full of emotion as one of Umar's "best men" at the event.

Lucy also revealed that Ryan "smashed the best man's speech" at the event in her Instagram stories.

There was also a Corrie reunion on the cards at the event, as Richard Fleeshman rejoined his Manchester friends for the celebration.

Richard, now a West End star, also treated guests to a performance on stage during the entertainment-packed event which also saw star turns from Ronan Keating and Brian McKnight.

Day 2 brought the first wedding celebration where guests were dressed in glamorous black tie. Those pictured in stunning ballgowns and suits outside the iconic French hotel included Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand and wife Kate, international supermodel Naomi Campbell and boxer Anthony Joshua.

Nada stunned in a couture white gown by designer Dior, the story of how it was made was shared in a video with Vogue magazine. Meanwhile Umar was dapper in a Tom Ford tuxedo.

As Nada made her way to the aisle, videos showed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli singing The Prayer as some guests were left in tears at the emotional moment.

The wedding party then got into full swing inside the hotel's ballroom afer the nuptials.

And Mariah Carey capped a memorable day with a stunning surprise performance much to the delight of guests. She appeared on stage wearing a glittering white and sheer sequin dress before taking to the mic.

Videos shared on social media showed her performing a host of her biggest global hits including Hero and It's Like That.

Afterwards she was pictured mingling with guests including Anthony Joshua and Naomi Campbell.

Saturday marked day 3 of the party, which was the traditional Indian wedding celebration. The newlywed couple were seen walking along the stunning rose-lined promenade outside the chateua style hotel, making their vows together as waves lapped in the bay behind them at Cap D'Antibes.

Umar shared a series of friends' photos and videos of the couple after exchanging their traditional floral garlands to his 1.2million followers on Instagram stories.

Umar was born in Manchester and raised in Chorlton, where he would grow up alongside his siblings, cousins and grandparents in a crammed family house in his early years.

But his entrepreneur father Mahmud Kamani was to strike gold when he launched the online fashion firm Boohoo.com in Manchester, which would go on to become a billion-pound success story.

Former Wilmslow High students Umar and brother Adam would go on to launch their own fashion firm, Pretty Little Thing, in 2012, initially focussing on fashion accessories.

But branching out into fashion from their Ancoats HQ would see the label explode internationally, and it's now valued at £3.8bn.

Umar and Nada shared their engagement back in August 2021, when Umar proposed at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo in dreamy scenes.

He got down on one knee on a stage adorned with white roses presenting Nada with a £1.45 million diamond ring.

Guests who attended the wedding shared their joy on social media across the weekend. Scott Thomas posted: "There's nothing quite like a Kamani wedding. Congratulations @umarkamani @nadakamani Memories for a lifetime."

Naomi Campbell said: "My chosen family ! Would not want to be anywhere else than with you on this day.

TO WITNESS THIS BEAUTIFUL UNION OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE MR&MRSKAMANI @nadakamani @umarkamani WE LOVE YOU !!"

Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas enjoyed a romantic time with wife Caroline at the wedding. He posted an emotional post saying: "Hard to put into words what an incredible few days we've had together... It's felt like a movie ever since we landed and you @Carolinethomas23 are the star".

His Love Island twin Scott Thomas hailed it a "once in a lifetime" wedding.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand summed up the mood saying: "What a wedding", while wife Kate said: "A perfect celebration filled with so much love."

Richard Fleeshman, who famously played Corrie's Craig Harris when he was a teen, shared video of the moment he got up on stage to sing.

He said: "It's not every day you get to perform on the same bill as @Mariahcarey @brianmcknight23 and @Andreabocelliofficial."

He added: "Unforgettable weekend".

Umar replied to the post saying: "You were outstanding my brother thank you for making it extra special."
