“Ripley, X-Men '97, Baby Reindeer” score notable 2024 TCA Awards nominations

Awards season is officially in progress, and the Television Critics Association is ready to weigh in with their choices for the best programs of the 2023-2024 TV season. On Monday, the organization revealed its nominees for the 40th Annual TCA Awards, which will be held on Friday, July 12.

Netflix and FX led the nominations with 16 apiece. Netflix boasted the critically-acclaimed combination of Ripley and Baby Reindeer, while FX has both Shōgun and The Bear to its name. It wouldn't be a 2020s TV awards ceremony without lots of love for The Bear, now would it?

But there are also some fun surprises, too. The recent Disney animated series X-Men '97 scored two nominations, for both Outstanding New Program and Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming.
