Rita Ora admits she used to neglect her hair

Rita Ora has admitted that she neglected her hair earlier in her career.

The hitmaker has teamed up with beauty pro Anna Lahey to launch a haircare line called Typebea, which focuses on hair health and growth.

In a new interview with People, Rita confessed that when she was younger, she tried out a number of different hair styles and colours, which ended up damaging her hair.

"I was doing anything for the look, and I was almost like not even caring about hair health," she told the outlet about her locks before she met Vida Glow founder Anna in 2021.

The singer continued, "It's part of my creativity, it's part of my identity as an artist. I love changing up my hair and I'd do anything to commit to a look. But the more I was in the industry, the more I realised all this constant changing of colour was just horrible and I didn't have any hair left."

Elsewhere in the interview, Anna shared that she and Rita bonded over their interest in hair and she could tell the Let You Love Me singer "really wanted to start her own brand".

In the three years since they met, the duo have created four "hero" products.

"It has been dermatologically tested on all different hair types," Anna explained. "What I mean by that is whether you have curly or coily hair or you have platinum blonde hair, and everything in between. I have extremely oily hair. I wash my hair every single day. Rita has a completely different type of hair than mine. She washes twice a week. It works for both of us the same way."

Typebea is now available to purchase.
