Road closed near Sefton Park after woman seen on roof

Police have closed a road near to Sefton Park after a woman was seen on the roof of a block of flats.

The road closure is currently in place on Croxteth Road up where it meets Brompton Avenue. Police were called to the scene at around 2pm this afternoon (Sunday).

Merseyside Police confirmed officers are responding to concerns for the welfare of a female who is on the roof of an apartment block. A police spokesperson said officers were there to ensure her welfare.

Several police vehicles, ambulances and three fire engines were seen parked along the length of the road. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "Croxteth Road in both directions blocked, slow traffic due to police incident from B5173 to B5342 / Brompton Avenue."
