Rochelle Humes confirms husband Marvin has sent 'secret' signals from I'm A Celebrity

What did you miss?

Rochelle Humes has confirmed that her husband Marvin has been sending her secret messages from the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The JLS singer has been away from This Morning star Rochelle and their three kids for weeks, while he’s a contestant on the ITV jungle show. While the pair can’t talk to each other, many viewers believe they came up with a way for Marvin to ‘communicate’ from camp by tapping his chest.

Rochelle has been coy on the subject, but finally addressed all the gossip when she appeared on This Morning via video link from Australia, where she has jetted to greet Marvin when he leaves the camp.

What, how, and why?

She was chatting to hosts Rylan and Emma Willis about I’m A Celebrity and what it was like Down Under, when they asked about Marvin’s gesture. Emma brought up the way the star taps his fist on his chest over his heart four times, which fans think is one for Rochelle and one for each of their children - Alaia-Mai, 10, Valentina, six, and Blake, three.

"His little heart pump every time he’s live on the telly, that’s to you guys right?" she asked. Rochelle looked cagey as she appeared to try and work out what to say, and the presenters giggled. But she then decided to confess. “Someone said that I shouldn’t say yes or no but you are my friends so yes it is!” she said.

The TV star also opened up about what it’s been like watching her husband in the jungle, admitting she was surprised when Marvin became tearful reading his letter from home

"We've been together 14 years and I think I’ve seen him cry four times," she said. "It threw me. I thought he’d like it and appreciate it but I did not for one minute think he would cry."

"I think, obviously we both work and we might be away for a little while but we always talk," she explained. "I think the no contact has been really weird, definitely for me, but for him too. To see him get really emotional, I think he’s obviously feeling it a little bit in there."

Rochelle also admitted she still felt surprised that Marvin had signed up in the first place. "I can’t believe he’s done it to be honest with you!" she said.

"I thought he was having some kind of mid-life crisis, I was like, normally people go and buy a fancy car and you’ve decided to go in the jungle!"

She continued: "But the fact that he’s done things that I never thought he’d do like jump out of a plane, that was just a massive deal because I just know how much that terrifies him - I still can’t believe he’s in there and quite what he’s done."

Rochelle said Marvin was being his real self in the camp - and admitted she had "missed the calmness" at home. "I've realised who’s the frantic one of the duo and it’s definitely me!” she joked.
