Ronan Keating is loving life and being 'daddy day care' to son Cooper - EXCLUSIVE

Ronan Keating has revealed he isn’t getting much sleep these days as his two new jobs – looking after his five-month-old son and hosting Magic Radio’s Breakfast Show – have robbed him of a decent lie in.

The 40-year-old star wakes up at 4.30am to make it into work on time, but during our exclusive chat the Boyzone singer gushed about his new routine because it allows him to spend more hours during the day with his beautiful little boy, who he and his wife Storm welcomed in April and named Cooper.

Ronan told Yahoo Celeb UK at the TV Choice Awards at London’s The Dorchester hotel on Monday: “Well the thing is, he doesn’t wake until about 9 o’clock so I’ll only be missing out on a couple of hours, I’ll be home by 11am. Straight into the family life, I’m like daddy day care.”

The 40-year-old pop star admitted his lifestyle has flipped 180, and he’s waved goodbye to “all nighters” for good.

He added: “It’s the best hours to do. That’s it, I’m excited about it. It’s part of the reason I dived into the show. Knowing that I’d be at home all day.”

Ronan – who has Jack , 18, Missy, 16, and Ali, 11, from his first marriage to Yvonne Connolly – also joked his days of drinking wine and gorging on episodes Game of Thrones are well and truly behind him now.

“I’m used to all nighters, staying up late, I’m not necessarily partying, but I’d sit up watching box sets of Game of Thrones or something, with a glass of wine and before you know it it’s three or four in the morning. So it will take a bit of getting used to (early mornings) but it will be fine, I’m a professional you know!”

The star has reunited with Boyzone for the band and will mark their 25 year anniversary with a new album and world tour, and he’s claimed that despite their advancing years, the group – which also includes Keith Duffy, Michael Graham and Shane Lynch – look as good as ever.

He told us: “I think we are in our prime as a band, we’re looking better than we have in years, or maybe ever!”

But Ronan insisted the boys are having a lot of fun and are excited to release “brand new music”.

He added: “It’s been entertaining, fun, a bit different. Hard work with all of us because our diaries are crazy. But we’re making it happen and the album sounds amazing. It’s brand new, fresh music.”

And we can’t wait to hear it.
