Former EastEnders star Ross Kemp has hinted that we may not have seen the last of his popular character Grant Mitchell.

Ross is best known for playing Grant intermittently since 1990 and was last seen on screen for a brief Walford stint back in 2016.

However, Ross has suggested that he would be keen to reprise his role as Phil's brother again one day, as he praised the show's current boss John Yorke.

"It's a great job to have and I often think it would be lovely to be back in a soap," he told Metro.co.uk. "But I am doing something else."

He added: "John has done a brilliant job. I worked with him when he was very young – he's a fantastic producer, and the show's going from strength to strength."

Ross is currently continuing his work as an investigative journalist and documentary maker – a job which has taken him all around the world.

However, despite his subsequent success, Ross has never ruled out a return to EastEnders, stating previously that he'd like Grant to be able to go on forever.

Last year, the actor also welcomed twin girls – named Ava and Kitty – with his wife Renee O'Brien.

EastEnders continues tonight (March 16) at 8pm on BBC One.
