Ryan Reynolds teases fans with picture of him at the Bake Off tent

The image showed the actor outside the tent with the show's judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith

Ryan Reynolds has sent fans into a spin by sharing a picture of him with Great British Bake Off judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

The Hollywood star shared the snap on Instagram of him and TV stars outside the Bake Off tent, leading fans to suspect he's going to be on the baking show.

The image showed Reynolds smiling as he stood between Hollywood and Leith, with his arms around their shoulders.

"A full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin," said the Deadpool actor.

Hollywood shared the same picture on his own account, with the caption: "Prue and I catching up with @vancityreynolds … #legend."

Fans joked that they would "lose it" if the post meant Reynolds was going to be on Bake Off.

"Wow!" one wrote in the comments section, while another posted: "You’ve done Celeb Bake Off?! That’s it then. We can end television now. It’s done."

Another wrote: "The people need this. I need this."

"I swear to God if you are on one of the special edition episodes I will lose my mind," said someone else.

"OMG if he's done Celeb Bake Off, I can't wait to watch, it's gonna be jokes," remarked another fan.

"Omgggg I hope to the baking Gods you baked in the tent," wrote one excited fan.

"This is amazing!" gushed one person as another joked: "Can you whip us up a sausage roll????"

"Hollywood meets Hollywood," quipped another.

Bake Off is expected to return later this year, with Hollywood and Leith back as judges.

Alison Hammond will co-host the show with Noel Fielding, after comedian Matt Lucas stepped down.
