Rylan Clark tried to end his own life amid collapse of his marriage

Rylan Clark has revealed he tried to end his own life after his marriage breakdown.

The TV star and his hubby Dan Neal split up last year, following six years of marriage.

And Rylan, 33, has now said that he reached a point where he felt like he "couldn't carry on".

The star opened up about what happened in his new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future.

"For the first time in my 32 years, I felt I couldn't carry on no more," he was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying.

"'What's the point?' I thought. I'd lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. So I tried to end it."

The star said he would not share any details as he didn't think it would be fair on his mum, but he added: "Thank God I was unsuccessful."

In recent days Rylan has also shared that he suffered heart failure on two separate occasions after he and Neal went their separate ways.

Metro quoted him as saying at his An Evening With Rylan Clark event: "Twice last year I ended up back in an ambulance because my heart had failed and it was really strange because I just remember for a couple of weeks going, 'My heart hurts'."

The star said that his "heart had to be restarted".

Rylan - who found fame on The X Factor - met Neal when he was a contestant on Big Brother in 2013.

They got married in 2015 and split last year.
