Sam Thompson has been seen looking rather downcast amid rumours of 'crisis talks' with his partner Zara McDermott. The former Made in Chelsea favourite was seen strolling glumly in a grey tracksuit, airpods in and gaze fixed to the ground.

Meanwhile, Zara's Instagram feed shows her sharing glamorous shots of herself sporting a red dress while wandering the streets of Palma, Spain, simply captioned "Exploring Palma," followed by a strawberry emoji.

At last month's TRIC Awards, Sam appeared visibly distressed according to reports in OK!, receiving comfort from his close pal Pete Wicks. Gossip swirled that his tears were due to a spat with Zara, especially after images reported by the publication surfaced of her seemingly berating him post-Soccer Aid party.

The pair were quick to quash such talk, with Zara clarifying that she was actually offering Sam enthusiastic encouragement. "It looks like we are having an argument but I'm telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner," she clarified.

Breaking his silence about the TRIC Awards incident, Sam revealed on Staying Relevant that he had received 'really bad news' that day and was feeling 'really sad,' yet he didn't want to skip the event.

"Firstly, there's no way of getting around it, I had actually received some bad news, so I actually was really sad, I'm not going to lie about it, but I was," he told his dedicated followers and listeners.

"I wasn't crying though, I wasn't actually crying. I just want to let everyone know that now," he went on to confirm.

While the celebrity chose not to reveal the details of the 'bad news', he expressed appreciation for the support from his TOWIE pal, especially during this rough patch. "He's being such a good mate and saying he's always there for me and I'm feeling really sorry for myself," Sam candidly shared.

Lately, it's been rumoured that Sam and his girlfriend Zara have encountered difficulties in their relationship, with reports suggesting they are engaged in 'crisis talks'. "Since Christmas Zara and Sam have been really busy with work and have had little quality time to see each other and as a result their relationship has suffered," an insider divulged to The Sun.

The source claimed: "They've both wanted to make the most of their careers and say yes to all the exciting opportunities offered to them.

"Last weekend it came to a head and they had a big row. It was very upsetting and they needed some time to let the dust settle." Zara took off to Mallorca for a modelling assignment, before making her way back home.

The couple began their relationship in 2019, enduring a brief split following Zara's admission of infidelity with a record label boss while on X Factor: Celebrity, where she was part of a group with ex-Love Island stars Samira Mighty, Eyal Booker, and Wes Nelson.

Dramatic scenes unfolded on E4's reality series Made in Chelsea, with a tearful Zara pleading for Sam to take her back during their park bench heart-to-heart.

In December 2020, reconciliation was on the cards as Sam confirmed to MailOnline: "I believe in forgiveness. I understand the context – and I think in any walk of life you can't move forward unless you forgive."
