Satellite Shows Storm Alberto Making Landfall in Mexico

Satellite imagery shows the first named tropical storm of the season barreling through northeastern Mexico on Thursday, June 20, bringing heavy rain to the region.

Alberto made landfall as a tropical storm before weakening to a tropical depression as it moved inland, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

The NHC said all tropical storm warnings across Mexico were discontinued as of 10 am local time, but warned heavy rains and flash flooding could continue in northeastern areas.
