Scores of cyclists take part in Randonnee 2024 cycle event PHOTOS
Here’s a collection of pictures from the hugely popular Isle of Wight sporting event, the Wayfarers Cycling Randonnée, which was in full swing today (Sunday).
Thousands of riders of all ages and abilities took part, going at their own pace and tackling either a 60k or 100k route.
Cyclists all started at different points around the Island, travelling clockwise.
Last year, the free-to-enter event made a whopping £14,000 in donations for Isle of Wight charities - almost double the amount raised in 2022.
In addition, refreshment points, run mainly by representatives from local schools, made money too.
It's a family event and riders collect badges if they complete it.
The Randonnee is run on Isle of Wight roads, and scores of volunteers helped to staff a multitude of check points between 8am and 6pm.
The event has been running since 1985, just two years after the creation of the Wayfarer Cycletouring Club itself.
