Police are searching for a 9-year-old girl who went missing while riding her bike in Moreau State Park in New York Saturday evening.

New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul confirmed the disappearance of Charlotte Sena from Saratoga County in a press conference held on Sunday.

Hochul explained that “Charlotte was camping with her family in Moreau [Lake] State Park” in Gansevoort, New York, where she disappeared on a bike ride.

“[She] did a couple of loops with close friends she considers her cousins and then she decided after going around Loop A, she said she wanted to go around one more time by herself. Be that big girl, do it by herself,” Hochul said.

But after 15 minutes, Hochul said Charlotte was nowhere to be found. However, her bike was found, but it is unclear who located it, reported Fox News.

Sena was last seen at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to Lt. Colonel Richard Mazzone, Assistant Deputy Superintendent of the New York State Police (NYSP), who spoke at the conference after Hochul.

After the girl’s family and other campers joined in the search calling out her name, Hochul said Charlotte’s mother Tricia called 911 and New York State Police arrived around 15 minutes later.

Hochul said there are “over 100 personnel deployed and 75 law enforcement on the ground” involved in the search over the last 18 hours.

Hochul said a command post was established at Moreau Lake State Park and more search teams were deployed Sunday morning.

“We also have the Schenectady Fire Office here assisting with the search given that Charlotte is the niece of one of the members of the Schenectady Fire Department,” Hochul added.

After a missing child report was issued Saturday evening, Lt. Colonial Mazzone said at the conference that an AMBER alert was issued for Sena Sunday morning.

“We are leaving no stone, no branch, no table, no cabin unturned, untouched, unexamined in our search to find Charlotte,” Hochul said. "I promised her parents we will find her daughter. She's all of our daughters. Their family needs love. They need prayers.”

She added, “Hearts are broken here today in New York. Hopefully there'll be a reunion. Hopefully they'll be a family that has been traumatized, but as reunited. That is our prayer and our hope at this time.”

Sena is described as a white female who is 5 feet 1 inch and weighs approximately 90 lbs. She was last seen wearing an orange tie-dye Pokémon shirt, dark blue pants, black Crocs and a gray bike helmet.
