Spoilers ahead for You seasons 1 -2

You season 3 hasn't even arrived yet (that's our weekend sorted when it launches this Friday) - and Netflix has already confirmed that the thriller has been renewed for series 4.

Based on Caroline Kepnes' series of best-selling novels, You follows Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg, a bookseller-turned-serial killer who has - to date - murdered his former girlfriend Beck (Elizabeth Lail), her best friend Peach Salinger (Shay Mitchell), Beck's ex Benji (Lou Taylor Pucci), and Paco's abusive father Ron (Daniel Cosgrove). And let us not forget that Joe's now-wife Love (Victoria Pedretti) murdered Delilah (Carmela Zumbado).

The teaser trailer for season 4 takes us back to season 1, featuring snippets of Beck, Peach, and Benj - and their gruesome demises - plus his original ex we all thought was dead but is very much alive Candice (Ambyr Childers) - hinting that perhaps series 4 will finally see Joe being punished for his crimes.

Meanwhile, season 3 finds Joe and Love married and raising their newborn baby in a balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they're surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers.

Netflix's synopsis says: 'Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there's his heart. Could the woman he's been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing. But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.'

Shalita Grant and Travis VanWinkle join the cast for season 3, with Grant playing a 'mum-fluencer' named Sherry, who 'appears down to earth, but is actually a mean girl who only pretends to welcome Love into her social circle,' Netflix says. VanWinkle will play Cary, a rich neighbour who tries to welcome Joe into his inner circle.

Scott Speedman is also a new addition, playing the enigmatic Matthew, described as 'a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father. He's reserved, at times mysterious, and has a tendency to be withdrawn, all of which masks a deep well of emotion underneath'.

Series regulars also include Tati Gabrielle, as no-nonsense librarian Marienne, and Dylan Arnold, as a troubled college student.

Saffron Burrows returns as Love's mother Dottie.

You season 3 launches on Netflix on Friday, October 15th.
