The pop siren and social media megastar has opened up about her love life, or lack of it, in an interview with Vogue Australia and confessed despite being one of the most admired women in the world, she can’t find a date.

Though she admitted her gruelling schedule leaves her little time for romance, Selena added super famous guys aren’t her type and thinks “low key” men would be out of their minds to try their luck with her.

The 24-year-old beauty said: “I figured it’s just temporary. I feel like that fortunately and unfortunately it’s where my life is at the moment and I have to accept it.

“Because I think people would think it’s kind of dumb [to date me). Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like, why would they?”

Selena dated fellow teen star Justin Bieber on/off for three years and the relationship was closely followed in the media, which she says doesn’t help her case when it comes to finding a new love.

She said: “For a while my private life was the most talked about thing. Nobody really knows everything and they can only assume. You want to do what you love but all this other stuff overshadows it so it makes it a little harder for people to take me seriously.”

But she does have an idea of who she would like to be with at some point.

She added: “I’d be so stoked with a writer or producer or actor who is low-key, but those kind of guys are terrified of me!”

Meanwhile, her latest album Revival was widely regarded a coming of age record and Selena fought to have the racy track ‘Good For You’ as the first single because it sent the right message about where she was emotionally.

She said: “I was so adamant that I didn’t want that to be my story. ‘Same Old Love’ is so obvious in what it’s about, it’s a cycle of a very vicious relationship. Even though that is such a huge narrative of my life, I felt confident with ‘Good For You’ [being the first single], and then it could be like, ‘I’m pissed and this is exhausting.’ I think any girl would feel that.”
