Seven-month-old baby dies after being attacked by family dog in Germany

A seven-month-old boy died after he was attacked by his family’s dog in Germany.

The animal reportedly bit the baby on his head late on Monday night while the family was at home in the town of Bad König in Hesse, The Local reported.

His father contacted emergency services and he was taken to a clinic where he died the same evening.

The cause of the attack, as well as the dog’s history of aggression, is unknown.

But the animal, reportedly a mixed-breed, was taken to an animal shelter following the attack, where police described it as displaying aggressive behaviour.

According to The Local, prosecutors said the baby’s parents are in a state of shock following the attack.
