Severe Storm Wreaks Mayhem in Moscow

Eleven people were reportedly killed and many more injured when a severe storm hammered the Moscow metropolitan area on Monday, May 29, uprooting trees and stripping roofs. Thousands were left without electricity as fallen trees cut power lines.

The storm is the deadliest to have struck Moscow in recent decades, exceeding a similar incident in 1998 that killed nine people. Footage by one Muscovite show branches blocking streets and tin roofs rattled by the gusts.
