Severe Thunderstorms Descend on New York City and Hudson Valley

Powerful thunderstorms descended on New York City and other parts of the tri-state area on Saturday, October 16, following a string of severe weather warnings issued by the National Weather Service for the region.

As thunderstorms passed through New York, flights were delayed at airports in the city, NBC New York reported. Heavy rainfall was recorded later in the afternoon along the Hudson River north of New York City.
