A number of Northern Ireland's biggest comedians are hosting a special stand-up show to raise money to replace the wrestling belt of a local WWE fan.

Last Saturday, Barry Lecky attended WWE Live at the SSE Arena Belfast and after setting his customised belt (pictured above) on a chair for a few minutes to queue for a high-five from one of the stars of the show Cody Rhodes, he returned to find his much-loved belt missing.

His family launched an online campaign to try to reunite Barry with his belt but unfortunately, a week later, there are still no signs of the belt being back with its owner.

On Saturday, top stand-up Shane Todd took to social media to announce a special show at Limelight on Monday in order to raise money to replace Barry's belt, after spotting his story on Belfast Live.

Shane will be joined by fellow comedian and wrestling fan William Thompson to host the gig with another of their friends on the comedy scene on April 29 - tickets on sale here.

Shane said: "Got chatting to Willy T about this during the week.

"A lot of people saw the Belfast Live article about Barry having his custom WWE belt stolen. It hasn’t been returned.

"We’ve roped tonnes of our mates in for a huge fundraising show this Monday night in Limelight 2. We’ll replace this treasured belt by having a cracker night of stand-up from some of the top acts on the Belfast comedy scene.

"Once we cover the cost of the replica belt and engraving all remaining proceeds will go to the Red Cross."
