The Shape of Water leads the nominations for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards.

Guillermo del Toro's acclaimed fantasy romance was listed in seven categories: Best Motion Picture, Drama; Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama (Sally Hawkins); Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Octavia Spencer); Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Richard Jenkins); Best Director, Motion Picture (del Toro); Best Screenplay, Motion Picture; and Best Original Score, Motion Picture.

Martin McDonagh's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Steven Spielberg's The Post follow close behind with six nods each, followed by first time director Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird with four.

Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, All the Money in the World, Get Out and I, Tonya all scored three nominations apiece. And yes, Get Out was nominated as a comedy.

Christopher Plummer was nominated as Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for his 11th hour role in Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World. (Is that the Golden Globes thumbing their nose at Kevin Spacey? Who can say?)

Meryl Streep's nod for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama in The Post marks her 31st Golden Globe nomination, which should come as little surprise.

Conspicuous absences from the nominations include Wonder Woman, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine swan song Logan and box office smash IT: Chapter One.

The 2018 Golden Globes winners will be announced on January 8.
