Sharon Osborne has some positive news to share about her husband Ozzy following his recent health scare.

Ozzy was forced to cancel his retirement tour after being rushed to hospital last week to be treated for pneumonia.

However, his wife Sharon shared a promising update on the singer’s condition while appearing on her US show The Talk.

“He’s out of ICU and he’s doing great,” she said, prompting a huge ovation from the studio audience. “He’s breathing on his own.”

She added: “I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody that has reached out with good wishes. He is overcome by the response that he’s had, and it’s kind of bittersweet because he’s overwhelmed with it, but he’s sad too.”

She later thanked her fans on Twitter, writing: “Thank you to everyone for all your get well messages and support for Ozzy. We are overwhelmed and truly touched by everyone’s thoughtfulness.”

Ozzy has been struggling with a series of health issues lately, causing him to cancel the European and UK legs of his ‘No More Tours 2’ show.

Last week, Sharon shared the news that Ozzy had been hospitalised due to “complications from flu”.

“As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu,” she told her Twitter followers.

“His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”

Ozzy has been struggling with his health since he suffered a staph infection last year, which also caused him to postpone some performances in October.

On having to cancel his retirement tour, Ozzy said in a statement last month: “I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October, everything I touch has turned to shit. First, the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis.

“I want to apologise to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to [tourmates] Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It’s being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologise to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy.”
