Neil Harris has warned his Millwall players they will miss out on the play-offs if they do not improve from their defeat against Swindon on Saturday.

Millwall had their 16-match unbeaten run ended at the weekend and travel to League One leaders Sheffield United tonight.

Harris accused his team of being "mentally and physically weak" against Swindon and expects a response at Bramall Lane.

The Lions are three points outside the top six but they do have games in hand on the teams above them.

Harris said: "If we are going to force our way back into play-off contention then we cannot perform like that tonight.

"The fact is that is one defeat in 17 but that was not acceptable. We were going to get beat at some stage but the disappointment was the manner of the defeat."

Millwall won six of their final eight games last season to finish in the play-off places and the Lions could need another strong finish.

Harris has suggested he could make changes for the tough test of Sheffield United, who are unbeaten in 10 games and sit 10 points clear of third place.

Harris said: "It is about picking the right team, me picking a fresh team. These boys have been great for me. We have got a real good group.

"I have been loyal to a lot of players as well as they have played well for me. Now it becomes about winning games and picking players for the right game."

Millwall captain Tony Craig added: "That run is finished now and we have to put it behind us. It was not good enough but in football you need to move on very quickly."
