Shell-shattering force: Croc destroys dead turtle with vicious bite

This is the moment a saltwater crocodile demonstrates its T-Rex-style bite as it obliterates the shell of a dead turtle.
The Olive Ridley sea turtle was found washed up on the coastline of the Cobourg Peninsula, in Australia’s Northern Territory, after being killed by a fishing net.
Dani Best, a park ranger in the Northern Territory, cut the dead reptile from the net and then set up a wildlife-monitoring camera to capture what might happen.
The camera then began to record footage as various predators approached the turtle hoping for an easy meal.
After a young saltwater crocodile had a feed, a giant croc was filmed coming out of the sea and approaching the dead reptile’s remains.
The fearsome man-eater showed its power as it crunched down on the turtle, obliterating the shell.
Saltwater crocodiles have the most powerful bite of any living creature with scientists comparing it to that of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

They can slam their jaws shut with a bite force of 3,700 pounds per square inch.
This is around four times as powerful as a lion and 25 times what a human can do.
The spectacle of natural force took place on the Cobourg Peninsula, which is around 200 miles east of Darwin, earlier this month with the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife releasing details this week.
