Shovels and sleds were out for sale in New York City on Wednesday, December 16, in preparation for a winter storm that was forecast to bring heavy snow to the region.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter storm warning for the tri-state area on Wednesday morning, with forecasters predicting eight to 12 inches of snow near New York City. The NWS said “blizzard-like” conditions could be possible late on Wednesday and into Thursday.
