Sir Andy Murray and wife Kim Sears welcome a baby girl

Sir Andy Murray’s wife, Kim Sears, has given birth to their second child, another baby daughter.

The tennis champ is already dad to daughter Sophia, who was born in 2016, with the name of their newborn currently unknown.

Speaking earlier today, Andy’s gran, Shirley Erskine, told Heart Scotland News: “We’re absolutely delighted. Another little girl, a little sister for Sophia so hopefully that’ll be great for her too.

“She’ll have a little playmate.”

The news comes less than 24 hours after Andy attended a charity tennis event in Glasgow, with the star playing against Roger Federer in what was his first public match since he suffered a hip injury at Wimbledon earlier this year.

The star wore a ginger wig for the game, which was in aid of UNICEF and local children’s charities.

Andy and Kim announced that they are expecting their second child in July.

Earlier this year, Andy revealed that travelling the world for his tennis commitments is “hard” on family life, admitting that he missed some of Sophia’s “major milestones” – hinting that this included her first words.

The sportsman previously said: “My child is more important to me and my wife is more important to me than a tennis match.

“I really don’t want to miss seeing those changes.

“Even when I’m away for a day I feel bad. I feel I should be there and I want to be there as much as I can.”
