Always check with your doctor if you are making any dietary changes or if you are worried about persistent ailments.

Rosemary

According to the expert, rosemary is known for helping relieve asthma symptoms because of the rosmarinic acid found in it. The acid has both anti-inflammatory effects and is packed with antioxidants.

Olive Oil

Olive oil, in particular extra virgin olive oil, has anti-inflammatory properties and antihistamine-like effects. By acting as a natural antihistamine, extra virgin olive oil can help block the release of histamines, providing further relief from allergy symptoms.

Wasabi power

This is probably not an ingredient that you have in your cupboard, but might be one to consider. It can help clear your sinuses if you’re feeling stuffy, and has a number of health benefits. It’s also high in vitamin C and antioxidants.

Honey

Experts at Seasoned Pioneers also praise honey as a great natural remedy, which can be used to help sore throats and the common cold. Natural or raw honey is a preferable choice rather than a processed product, as it can help build up a tolerance to pollen.

Berries

Anti-inflammatory fruits, such as berries, can also help with allergies during hay fever season.

Turmeric

Turmeric contains an active ingredient known as curcumin, which has been associated with helping to reduce symptoms of inflammation. Curcumin can help ease swelling and irritation caused by hay fever.

According to Cushelle, you can combine turmeric and ginger to be used as another remedy for hay fever. You can grate fresh ginger into hot water and add turmeric to create a tea that helps ease hay fever symptoms.
