These Smart Rings Will Stop Your Partner Watching Your Favourite TV Show Without You

A new pair of smart rings has been designed to stop people from sneakily watching episodes of beloved TV programmes without their partners.

Users simply register the ‘Commitment Rings’ through an app and then choose the series they want to watch together.

The rings are linked to a chosen video streaming platform using wireless NFC tech, so that it can only be activated when both rings are present

Putting both rings close to their smartphone will unblock the video streaming service.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be partners that use the rings, any family members, friends or house mates can take the sacred vow to not watch programmes without their TV buddy and don the techie rings.

The wearable gadgets have been dreamt up by creative agency LOLA MullenLowe for ice cream brand Cornetto with the tagline ‘Make your love last more than one season’.

The firm is partnering with some of the top streaming services, which haven’t been named, but it’s likely that Netflix and Amazon Prime Video will be top of the wish list.

Interested TV fans can sign up at the Commitment Rings website to be the first to found out how to get the rings.

There’s no word yet on whether they’ll actually be available to buy or whether they’re simply a promotional tool for Cornetto.
