Sony Pictures Confirms 'Venom: The Last Dance' Will Be the Final Film of the Franchise

Sony Pictures has officially revealed that Venom: The Last Dance will be the third and final film of the franchise.

In a recent conversation with Deadline, Sony Motion Picture Group CEO Tom Rothman confirms the end of the franchise stating, "The third and last Venom, is going to be huge." He also added that "when the last of the Spider-Verse movies comes with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it's going to be a significant event, as will the next Tom Holland Spider-Man film." When Tom Hardy signed on to the first film, it marked Sony's beginning of the Spider-Man Universe.

The trilogy began in 2018 as it introduced fans to Marvel's anti-hero. The second film arrived in 2021 and saw Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady and the titular Carnage thrown into the mix. The last time saw Hardy's Eddie Brock character was not in fact in a solo Venom film but rather towards the end of MCU's Spider-Man: No Way Home. The official title for the final Venom film, Venom: The Last Dance was originally announced in March, this year. The final and third film of the franchise is slated to release on October 25, 2024.
