Spice Girls' Mel C reveals Glastonbury disappointment
Sporty Spice said the band reuniting for the music festival doesn't fit in with all their plans.
Mel C has said she is disappointed that the Spice Girls will not be able to play at Glastonbury 2023.
Despite years of speculation and hints from Sporty Spice and her bandmate Mel B that the Wannabe singers will headline the music festival, Melanie Chisolm has now said they will not be able to all appear together at Glastonbury this year.
Mel C told The Guardian: “It’s the question I hate the most, because the answer is as disappointing to me as it is to Spice Girls fans. We would love to do Glasto. It just doesn’t fit with the current plan with the girls. We do want to get back on stage – everything is up in the air.”

Rumours that the Spice Girls — including Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and former bandmate Victoria Beckham — would reunite at the music festival have been circulating since 2019.

As recently as December 2022 Mel B told Mo Gilligan on then jumped on The Big Narstie Show that she was still working to convince her bandmates to join her at the festival.
Asked if they were playing Glastonbury she said: Yes, I think so!”
Then added: “But I’ve got to convince the four b****** to do it with me!”
In October 2022 Beckham ruled out reuniting with the Spice Girls to perform at Glastonbury.
The fashion designer told US show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: "I love the girls. I really, really enjoy singing Spice Girls when I’m doing karaoke, but I think I’d better leave it there.”
Sporty, Scary, Baby and Ginger reunited for a tour of UK and Ireland in 2019, without Posh joining them on stage.
That same year there were reports of a feud between Mel B and Horner, after Scary Spice claimed the pair slept together back in the 1990s.
Mel B, 47, confessed to the brief intimacy while filming an episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories back in March. The Two Become One singer was there to promote her new book ‘Brutally Honest’ before she touched on the pals’ romantic past.
Horner denied the story.
The band reunited to celebrate Geri Horner's 50th birthday party in November 2022, without Mel B.
Beckham, 48, shared pictures of herself partying with Horner, Mel C, 49, and Emma Bunton, 46 at Ginger Spice's lavish party.

They were even caught on camera dancing and singing along to Spice Girls hit Say You'll Be There.
