Last month, a picture of the Spice Girls back together emerged online, igniting rumours that a reunion tour was in the works.

However, Victoria Beckham – AKA Posh Spice – soon demolished those hopes, saying: “The girls are not going on tour… We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

So, what ideas did the group come up with? Turns out, the Spice Girls decided that, rather than going on tour, they would begin work on an animated superhero movie.

Variety reports that all five members – Beckham, Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) – have all signed off on their likeness being used in a girl-power themed superhero flick, with each group member having a power relating to their personality.

No studio has signed onto the project yet, with the five-piece shopping the idea around Hollywood right now. An insider confirmed to the publication that the group met earlier this year “to explore some incredible new opportunities together”, and that talks of a tour were “premature”.

The source added that the group are “fired up about the idea,” adding, “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”
