Spotify Can Now Play Tracks Directly From Your Twitter Timeline

Twitter will now serve up Spotify music clips direct from your Twitter timeline.

The new ‘audio cards’ enable Twitter users to listen to a 30-second preview of tweeted tracks in their feed, without having to open up Spotify separately.

Twitter has been using the audio cards since 2014, but until now they only worked with tracks form Apple’s iTunes and music streaming service SoundCloud, with Spotify left out of the loop.

The famous Swedish music streaming service, which was founded 10 years ago, 30 million paying subscribers along with 75 million who listen for free.

Twitter’s handy new Spotify integration makes it much easier to share songs with followers.

As Twitter is also set to start discounting web links from its 140-character limit, users will be able to tweet a few more words when linking to tracks

Twitter said that it may take a week or so for all Spotify tracks to display as audio cards.
