Stacey Solomon is getting her teeth into something new as she joins Bake Off: The Professionals.

The Loose Women star will co-host the Channel 4 series, which is a spin-off of The Great British Bake Off, with Liam Charles.

She will be taking over the role from Tom Allen, who has said it is "time to move on".

The show announced the news by tweeting a picture of Solomon with her co-host Charles, who was previously a Bake Off contestant, and judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden.

“Choux la la!” the message said.

“We're chuffed to announce that @StaceySolomon will be joining @LiamCBakes, @BenoitBlin_MCA and @Cherish_Finden for the next series of Bake Off: The Professionals.

“Welcome to the petit fours-ome, Stacey!”

Allen has been a host of The Professionals – which sees pastry chefs going up against each other in a series of challenges – since it moved to Channel 4 in 2018.

He posted a message on Instagram wishing Solomon well.

“I’ve had the best time co-hosting The Professionals down in Sussex with my wonderful friend Liam but now is the time to move on,” he said.
