Stacey Solomon has hidden her phone in a drawer admitting she sometimes struggles to ignore the “nastiness” of internet trolls.

The Loose Women presenter is an avid user of Instagram, sharing many aspects of her family life with her 3.5 million followers, but hinted her confidence had taken a blow after criticism of her appearance.

But Solomon, 30, shared a quote from Roald Dahl children’s story The Twits and she announced she is taking a break from social media.

She wrote: “Having a strange morning this morning. Some days I just wake up on the wrong side of my brain.

"I always do my best to ignore nastiness because deep down I feel sorry for people who want to hurt others to try to bring them down. I feel awful for how sad they must be deep down. But some days it's not so easy to ignore and the nastiness gets in. All part of being human I suppose.

"Anyways I'm going to put my phone in the drawer again today and shake it off."

The TV star went on: "Will be saying to myself on repeat today... we rise by lifting others & dulling someone else's sparkle will NEVER brighten their own.

"The truth of what's on the inside will always show on the outside."

She later added: “Before it goes into the drawer I’ve been reading through your messages. I don’t think thank you will ever be enough for building up my confidence and just being bloody amazing. Love you all.”

Solomon typically posts several times a day to her Instagram Stories, showing fans what she's up to during the day with partner Joe Swash and her sons as well as cleaning and crafting videos.

In May she rubbished speculation she has split from Swash after she stopped posting to social media earlier this week due to "personal reasons".

Posting a photo of her hand intertwined with Swash's, the former X Factor star wrote: "'Personal reasons' isn't code for divorce (we aren't married but you know what I mean) it just means some things are happening in our lives personally at the moment. And some things aren't mine to share.

The couple share one-year-old son Rex and live with Solomon’s sons from a previous relationship - Zachary, 12, and Leighton, 8. Swash also has a 12-year-old son Harry, 12.
