Stranger stares into Ring doorbell at 3am as fed up mum says 'I want it to stop'

A fed up mum has hit out at strangers who are constantly using the front gate of her home as a urinal.

The 40-year-old, who does not want to be named, said that since moving into her Southport flat three years ago, she has woken 'every morning' to find men have urinated on her gate.

She said: "It's not nice having to walk out there after someone has done it. It's my home. How would they feel if someone did it to them?."

The mum, who lives with her 21-year-old daughter, has got so fed up with the gate - which is the main access to her home - being used as toilet that she's put up a CCTV camera in a bid to deter those looking to relive themselves.

But looking back at footage she was shocked to discover they "just stared right at the camera while doing it."

She said: "My gate is set back a bit from the pathway and men just think its alright to have a wee there. Before I got my ring doorbell I would come home and there would be wee all the way up my gate.

"Even since I have got my ring doorbell it hasn't got better. One man at 3am was caught looking right at the camera while he was doing it."

The mum lives on a main road, above a shop, around a 15 minute away from the town centre and ten minutes from the nearest pub. She says the incidents happen the most when the shop downstairs is closed.

She continued: "I have to use that gate as the way in and out of my flat, it's worse when it's dark but yesterday it happened and it was in broad daylight. It makes me angry, I want them being shamed for doing it so that it hopefully stops. I want it to stop."

The ECHO understands this has not been reported to police.
