A young man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head in east London.

Police are hunting a gunman following the incident in Romford Road, Stratford, at around 10.30pm on Sunday.

The 21-year-old man was found suffering a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman for the Met police said: "No arrests have been made at this stage.

"Cordons are in place [and] enquiries are ongoing."

Bus routes 25, 86 and 308 were still being diverted during morning rush hour as detectives investigated.
