It's been a busy week in Strictly Come Dancing - we waved goodbye to Matt Goss, Kym Marsh faced the dreaded dance off and the judges gave their highest score so far with three 10s on the paddles.

But as ever, there's been so much more going on behind the scenes, too, as one celebrity took issue with their scores and the man behind the Strictly spoilers spoke out.

The 5 biggest stories from Strictly Come Dancing this week

Will Mellor is annoyed

Poor Will Mellor was battling a nasty virus last week, but rallied himself to perform his Rumba with Nancy Xu anyway rather than taking the week's pass that he was offered.

So he was pretty cross to get scores of four and five from Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas, and has been making his annoyance known.

He told the PA news agency he shouldn't have bothered, saying: "I’d only trained for about five hours that week because I’d been in bed with the full-on flu virus. I was in a bad way. The judges knew, but they just decided not to mention it or take it into consideration.

“I was a bit annoyed by it, to be honest, because I was struggling, and when you’re that way you feel a bit sorry for yourself, and when I got the scores I was a bit, ‘After all that…?!’. I got a four from Craig, but that’s just the way it is. They have to judge it as they see it, and that’s up to them.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have [danced], because the judges slagged me off – I should’ve just left it!”

The Strictly mole speaks

Ever wondered how (very accurate) rumours of who is being booted during Sunday's results show are swirling on the internet from Saturday night onwards?

The answer is the Strictly mole - or a team of moles, as super spoiler David Thorp explained that audience members would contact him.

Although the results don't air until Sunday, they are actually pre-recorded on Saturday - making it very difficult for the show to keep things under wraps.

Thorp, 42, told The Daily Mail: "I'm just providing a service and am not spoiling anyone's enjoyment.

"I don't put the results for everyone to see and they have to search for my site to find out the results.

"There is an appetite from people who want to know the results before Sunday.

"It could be argued that the BBC is to blame for recording something which is of massive interest the day before."

Tyler West's flying visit to Mauritius

A few weeks back, viewers were amazed that not only did Tyler West manage to combine London Marathon training with Strictly training, he also completed the race just hours after a live show - and then achieved the first 10s of the series while still in recovery the next weekend.

The radio DJ certainly doesn't do things by halves, and this week he has achieved another huge feat by making it to his brother's wedding in Mauritius for just three hours, before turning round and coming straight back home so that he only missed a day's training with Dianne Buswell.

West told Mail Online: "I watched the ceremony, he said his vows and 'I do', and it was emotional but as the sun was going down and everyone was having their photos taken, I had to say my goodbyes and I went straight back to the airport. I got there at 3pm and I left just before 6pm for the airport.

"My brother and I are so close, so I was never going to miss that moment where he said I do. He was so overwhelmed I was able to be there."

He added wisely: "Family comes first, and you do have a life outside of your work."

Hamza Yassin is king of the dancefloor

Nature cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin might have been one of the least familiar names when he signed up to the series, but he's fast becoming a fan favourite with partner Jowita Przystal.

On Saturday night, they achieved the highest score of the series so far with three perfect 10s for their Salsa to Ecuador by Sash! featuring Rodriguez, putting them right at the top of the leaderboard.

Yassin has impressed judges and fans most weeks, but spoke to Good Morning Britain this week about the tough toll that training was taking on his body.

Richard Madeley, hosting the ITV breakfast show, said: "Is it an optical illusion or is there a lot less of you?

“Honestly you’ve lost weight haven’t you?”

Yassin replied: “I have yes, I have. I’ve lost nearly eight and a half kilos (1.3 stone) … All thanks to (dance partner Przystal).

“Nine hours a day we’re trying to train and it’s hard on the body… My knees and legs are hurting.”

Bizarre BBC theme tunes mash-up

Strictly loves a theme week, and while some - movie week, Halloween and musicals - are regular fixtures, every so often they'll throw in a one-off special.

This weekend marks the start of the BBC's 100th anniversary programming and Strictly are getting in on the act with dances set to theme tunes from classic BBC shows.

However, the mash-up is potentially a little odd in some of the dances as James Bye and Amy Dowden prepare for a Foxtrot to the EastEnders theme tune, while Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe perform a Tango to the music from Casualty.

Grandstand, Line Of Duty and Grange Hill will all feature too, but whether they work or are panned by the critics remains to be seen on Saturday night.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
