Strictly contestant Danny John-Jules has hit back at a report from The Sun that he is ‘bullying’ his dance partner Amy Dowden.

The 58-year-old Red Dwarf and Death in Paradise star has retaliated against the claims with several Twitter posts, one that mocks the claims and another that implies that the journalists behind it are racists.

One Twitter post has the title ‘My new CV…’ and features the classic movie poster of 1933’s King Kong.

The movie King Kong, which has been remade many times, is about a giant ape who falls for a beautiful young woman.

John-Jules then followed up the mocking tweet with a far more more explicit one. In an epic rant, he implies that The Sun journalists are Ku-Klux Klan members:

“My conscience has never been clearer. I take great pride being hunted down by Khaki Wearing, Doberman holding,Tobacco chewing, Cross eyed, Cousin producing, Banjo playing, Chair rocking, Night riding, Sheet wearing, Pointy hatted, illiterate, hacks who’s truth is driven by hate,” he wrote.

This is not the first time John-Jules has spoken out regarding racism. He famously accused Strictly Come Dancing viewers of ‘always get rid of the black guy first’ back in 2016.

These retaliation posts come after The Sun’s report slammed John-Jules for allegedly bullying his professional dance partner Amy Dowden.

The report claims that John-Jules is bullying his 27-year-old dance partner, has been given a ‘final warning’ by the BBC and even said to Dowden: “I’m the star, not you.”

A source also alleges that the actor often swears and shouts at the star during their training and rehearsal sessions.

“Amy’s been crying constantly at the hands of Danny. He gets very angry in the training room and he swears and shouts at her a lot,” the source told The Sun.

“He also makes a lot of snide comments about him being famous and her not. Things have been bubbling away for a while and it all came to a head on Wednesday,” the source added.

The pair also had an awkward moment on Wednesday’s Lorraine. While John-Jules brushed off the Strictly curse threat and said he’s ‘professional’ he also joked that he hoped Dowden would kiss him at some point.

When Lorraine mentioned the Seann Walsh and Katya Jones kissing scandal, John-Jules joked about not receiving a kiss yet.

“Not to me! I’ve been hoping for that but I’ve got nothing!” he said.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One.
