Strictly Come Dancing’s latest voted-out celebrity Danny John-Jules has told his partner Amy Dowden he should have thanked her more often, following claims that he bullied her on the show.

Last week, The Sun reported that John-Jules, 58, had reduced pro-dancer Dowden, 27, to tears in training by shouting and swearing over disagreements, something that he has strongly denied ever happened.

The pair were voted out of Strictly on Sunday (November 11) after a Samba that left them at the bottom of the leaderboard, but despite saying they had a good relationship, John-Jules has now tweeted Dowden to say he should have shown more gratitude to her.

He was replying to a tweet in which she praised him for helping her to achieve her first-ever 10 on the show.

There appear to be no hard feelings on either side, as Dowden has also said she plans to invite John-Jules to her forthcoming wedding to Ben Jones, along with the judges and some of her dancer co-stars.

In an interview with OK! magazine, she said that she wanted “all of the Strictly family” to be there and said that Oti Mabuse, who she lost out to in the dance off, would be her bridesmaid.

Talking more about her supposed fallout with John-Jules, she told OK!: “We had a minor disagreement over our footwork and I stepped out of the studio for half an hour, but came back and we got on with training as normal.

“Danny has thrown himself into Strictly, so we do as many hours as we can fit in. I’m the boss, but we get along really well.”

Her fiance agreed: “I get along with Danny really well, too. His daughter Danae loves Amy.”

John-Jules also received a message of support from Strictly contestant Faye Tozer’s husband.

After Saturday night’s episode, John-Jules had a Twitter row with outspoken former Strictly pro James Jordan, who commented that the actor’s mother, in the audience, looked miserable.

John-Jules and Dowden were knocked out of the BBC contest by Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse in week eight.
