Brentford will say ciao to a new festival when Syon Park is transformed into Sicily next weekend. Marzamemi Fest is a celebration of Italian food, drinks, music, and crafts taking place in West London on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.

Colourful deck chairs, festoon lights, and traditional tiled flooring will convert the grounds from stately home to quaint seaside town. Some of London’s most popular Italian restaurants, including Belgravia’s Enoteca Turi and Holborn’s Arancino of Sicily, are dishing up fresh pasta, gnocchi, risotto, cannoli, and tiramisu.

Iconic London delicatessen Lina Stores is also serving fresh meat, cheeses, antipastos, and sauces. Other food offerings include pizza from Crosta & Mollica and Napoli on the Road, piadinas and panelle from Sicilia Fredda, and freshly shucked oysters from The Oyster Society.

There will be an opportunity to take part in cooking demonstrations and workshops, with Instagram-famous chef Francecso Mattana and tomato experts Mutti running various masterclasses. Drinks will be flowing thanks to Malfy Gin, The Emmissiary Prosecco, NIO Cocktails, Franco’s Frose, and Etna Coffee.

BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Emily Rawson and Capital XTRA’s Kamillah Rose are providing the tunes, with additional sets from Super K, Fabienne, Matchstick, and many more. Italian group Amore will also perform romantic serenades and jazz ballads.

The fun doesn’t stop there as there will be tents selling clothes, accessories, art, furniture, kitchen goods, and artisanal food and drink. Children are more than welcome and will be entertained with a silent cinema and disco, inflatables, yoga, dress up tent, football drills, mini beach, and face painting.

The organisers, Richmond residents of 10 years with Italian heritage, say they are also looking to open a food and drink business in the borough. Doors are open from 10am to 10pm on Saturday, and 10am to 8pm on Sunday. Adult tickets start at £27.33 and are available here.
