Here's how to make an Easter wreath for your front door

Wreaths are no longer just for Christmas, and this Easter wreath DIY is the perfect craft project to brighten up your home this Spring.

From pretty floral designs to wreaths featuring bold coloured eggs, they are perfect for hanging on your front door to welcome guests or for dressing up your living space as the weather warms up.

Easter and spring wreaths are getting more popular each year, and many people make designing one a fun activity to enjoy in the run up to the holiday with kids or on the bank holiday weekend. They're a great craft to add to your Easter decorations.

Spring flower Easter wreath

This pretty spring wreath is both quick and easy to make, and is brilliant as a stylish handmade Easter gift. So forget the shop-bought versions and put your craft skills to work.

You will need

• Pompom ribbon

• Plain willow wreath

• Floristry wire

• Artificial garland (we used forsythia garland from Withycombe Fair)

• Gypsophila

• Easter ribbon of your choice
  

• Craft glue

To make

1. Wrap a 1m length of pompom ribbon around the willow wreath, securing with floristry wire at each end.

2. Repeat the process with the forsythia garland, again securing with wire.

3. Cut small sprigs of gypsophila and insert the stalks evenly around wreath.

4. Take a length of Easter ribbon and fold it in half to form a loop. Glue it to the back of your wreath to create a hanging loop.
   

Sugar almond Easter wreath

Our craft team created this stunning design using a pre-made natural wreath from Hobbycraft, adorned with ribbon and sugared almonds - It's so easy to make yourself!

You will need

• Sugared almonds in cream and white

• Natural wreath

• Hot glue gun

• Ribbon, about 10cm wide

To make

1. Start by glueing the sugared almonds in alternating colours around the centre of the wreath. Place them randomly to avoid making the pattern too uniform.

2. Add almonds to the inner and outer edges until the front is completely covered. Try not to use too much glue to avoid it being visible.

3. Tie the ribbon in a bow and glue it to the top of your wreath. Now you can hang the wreath or place it on a mantelpiece.
