Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer has turned 63 today - celebrating his birthday while presenting the live show alongside co-host Tim Lovejoy. But fans are often left baffled by his age as he looked years younger.

He has previously shared his secret to maintaining a youthful appearance. When he turned 60, the TV chef attributed his good looks to a diet free from processed foods and regular boxing workouts three times a week.

Simon, who has been co-hosting the Channel 4 show with Tim Lovejoy, 56, for the past 20 years also said he had 'good genes'. Speaking to MailOnline, the father-of-two detailed how adhering to a healthy 'Mediterranean diet', drinking two litres of water daily, and following a strict skincare routine have helped him stay young in appearance and spirit.

He said: "I do look after myself. I'm not a big drinker and I exercise all the time.

"I don't eat any processed food, I do all the things that people say you should do, I eat loads of veggies, loads of fish, and loads of pulses.

"I eat loads of fruit and vegetables and drinks gallons of water. I probably drink two litres of water every day without fail. That Mediterranean style diet, people in the Med don't look brilliant without good reason. Avoiding junk food is the main thing.

"I have got good genes. My dad will be 90 next month, he is a bit old and frail, but he is still mentally absolutely great, and my mum is 86 and goes to the gym three times a week. My sister is 63 and she looks 20 years younger. '.

He added: "Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I never have a dirty kebab but in general, I cook my own food all the time. I overeat sometimes, I'm a chef, I love eating out but in general terms when I'm at home I eat really well."

And he also revealed his fitness routine including boxing. He said: 'I go boxing three times a week. Historically, football was my game and then I snapped my achilles ten years ago, so I stopped playing football.

"Then running was always my thing but I have a knackered left knee, so I stopped doing that and then I started boxing and I love it. I am quite obsessed by it."
