Another classic DC villain is coming our way, as it's been confirmed that Lobo will be causing chaos in Krypton's second season.

Producers of the Syfy show confirmed the news during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 21), although there's currently no word on who might play the villain (reported by Deadline).

If you're not familiar with Lobo, he's a pretty hard character. Born as a devil on the peaceful planet of Czarnia, the comics see him murder his entire civilization in order to become the last of his race.

He then stalks around the universe on a motorbike, killing whatever and whoever stands in his way.

As if all that wasn't enough of a hint about how nasty Lobo is, his name actually means "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it".

It certainly sounds like Krypton dwellers might be needing a helping hand in the show's second season...

Krypton focuses on Superman's grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) as a young man whose family, the House of El, have been shamed.

He then faces the agonising choice between saving his home planet or letting it be destroyed to restore the fate of his future grandson.

The first season saw history rewritten and a heck of a lot of trouble brewing, what with Zod (Colin Salmon) being ready to take on the galaxy and Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos) being trapped in one of Brainiac's (Blake Ritson) bottle cities, so season two is bound to be immensely dramatic.

The DC Comics series became Syfy's most-watched debut season in the past four years, meaning that a second run was almost inevitable.

Season one of Krypton will air in the UK later this year on E4, with season two expected to hit Syfy in spring 2019.
