Surrey's 'millionaire row' with more £1 million property sales than anywhere else

Pewley Way in Guildford and Broadleaf Road in Farnham can both claim to be Surrey’s “Millionaire’s Row”, with more £1 million property sales than anywhere else in our county.

There were over 14,000 houses sold for over £1 million across England and Wales between the start of April 2023 and the end of March 2024. That’s according to exclusive analysis of the latest Land Registry data by the Reach Data Unit. Almost half of them (49%) were in London.

However, 1,262 houses in Surrey were sold for over a million in the last 12 months. That’s more than in any county outside of London.

Five of those were on Pewley Way in Guildford and another five on Broadleaf Road in Farham. That’s the joint highest of any street in our county.

The most expensive house sold in our region over the last year was Hascombe Grange on Godalming Road in Loxhill.

The house was sold for £8.65 million in October, making it the sixth most expensive house sold outside of the capital last year, according to the Land Registry data.

Garden Reach House on Camp End Road in Weybridge was the next most expensive at £7.50 million.

Hideaway on Eaton ark Road in Cobham was the next most expensive at £7.25 million, followed by Stoke House on Stokesheath Road in Oxshott at £6.75 million.

The most expensive home sold in England and Wales over the last 12 months though was an apartment at Ashburton Place in Mayfair, London.

The flat cost its new owners £38.64 million when it was bought in June.

The next most expensive house was 38 Clarendon Road in Notting Hill, which sold for £35.00 million.

Meanwhile, 7 Tregunter Road in Chelsea sold for £32.50 million, 2 Holland Villas Road in Kensington sold for £31.25 million, and 8 Grosvenor Gardens Mews North in Belgravia sold for £25.68 million.

The KT11 postcode area - which covers Cobham - is the most expensive place to buy a home in Surrey. The average home there was sold for £1.44 million in the 12 months to the end of March.

In GU25 - which covers Virginia Water and Wentworth - homes cost an average of £1.18 million each.

In KT10 - Esher, Claygate and Hinchley Wood - they cost an average of £1.15 million, and in KT24 - West Horsley, East Horsley and Effingham - they cost £1.06 million.
