A TEENAGER has been taken into custody after a police officer was assaulted last night (Wednesday June 26).

The 17-year-old girl has been helping with enquiries, Dudley Police said this morning (Thursday June 27).

The arrest came after a police shift that ended with two officers being assaulted in separate incidents.

Brierley Hill Police said on X (formerly Twitter) that in one incident an officer was attacked by an offender making off from a burglary and another was injured by a prisoner who became aggressive.

Neither of the officers were seriously injured, they added.
