Tennis Fans Drenched as Storm Ida Hammers Louis Armstrong Stadium

Spectators at the US Open were soaked as rain poured through the retractable roof at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Corona, Queens, on September 1.

Footage by Solomon Rapoport shows tennis fans, who were gathered to see Diego Schwartzman take on Kevin Anderson, huddling under umbrellas as rain pours from the roof.

The torrential rain from storm Ida caused the match to be moved to the nearby Arthur Ashe Stadium, where Schwartzman beat Anderson in the early hours of Thursday morning. Credit: Solomon Rapoport via Storyful
