Terminally ill teenage girl meets Ed Sheeran as her final wish

15-year-old Sophia Gall from Victoria, Australia found out last month that her cancer, diagnosed in 2015, had become terminal. 

The teenager has the rare bone cancer osteosarcoma. After learning this devastating news she shared her final wish to meet the British pop sensation Ed Sheeran.

She said his music has 'helped [her] so much throughout [her] journey’.  

She was overjoyed when her wish came true, and she posted about it on day 20 of her current tour of Europe. Ms Gall managed to get a selfie with her idol.

The teen told her 25.3k followers that she was "overly happy right now."

She referred to the singer as her "fave ginger" and "truly amazing", and exclaimed that "this day has been AMAZING and I never want it to end!!!!"

The teenager is currently in London, but in the past 3 weeks has visited cities including Paris and Scotland, enjoying being styled and pampered at the House of Fraser and posing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Doctors discovered a lump on her back in 2015, and was told last month that no more medical treatments were available after the cancer didn't shrink but instead spread to her leg. 

Previously a keen dancer and soccer player, she now has aspirations to see as much of the world as she can.

Although she is "scared as hell of what's going to happen to me" she has stayed strong, telling her followers:

"You don't know what's going to happen so smile, be brave, be positive, be strong and believe in yourself."

She has also highlighted the need to find a cure, because "this just can't keep happening to people!"

Her resilience and positivity has been an inspiration to many, and she has urged her followers to "appreciate what you have people, you never know when it will be taken from you".
