Terry Lineen: Ex-All Black Missing At Heathrow

Police are appealing for help in finding a former New Zealand rugby player who went missing shortly after landing at Heathrow Airport.

Terry Lineen, 79, arrived in the UK from Auckland and was due to catch a plane to Edinburgh to visit family including his son, former Scotland international Sean Lineen.

But he did not board the connecting flight and has been missing since 1.20pm on Thursday, police said.

He was last seen on the airport's Southern Perimeter Road on CCTV.

According to his daughter-in-law, Lynne, he may be "in a very confused state after being in transit for 40 hours".

On Facebook, she wrote that her father-in-law could be sleeping on a chair somewhere in the Terminal 5 building.

Sean Lineen, who is now Scotland's under-20 head coach, has travelled down to Heathrow to help police search for his father.

A police spokesman added: "Mr Lineen is a white man, around 6ft tall, with grey hair.

"He was wearing a horizontal blue stripe polo shirt and dark trousers."

Terry Lineen played for the All Blacks between 1957 and 1960 before his career was cut short at the age of just 24 by a shoulder injury.
