Liverpool will be looking to build on their 2023/24 season and aim for success under Arne Slot in his first season in charge of the club.

The Reds secured a third-placed finish in the Premier League this term and claimed the Carabao Cup, though fell short in the Europa League and FA Cup to miss out on additional silverware.

Slot will be hoping to add to Liverpool's trophy haul during his debut campaign and is likely to put his stamp on the current squad in the coming weeks, with both incomings and outcomings to follow.

Transfer rumours have already began to emerge regarding what Slot's side could be looking like come August, as summed up below.

Koopmeiners future

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, who previously played under Slot during his spell at AZ Alkmaar.

The Dutch midfielder, who recently helped Atalanta to Europa League glory, has been tipped to seal a summer move after a successful spell in Italy and Liverpool are claimed to be among those interested.

Issuing an update on the future of Koopmeiners, the player's agent recently told Calciomercato: "Let's see. Teun is having a fantastic season, he has scored many beautiful and important goals, moreover he is a footballer with a constant performance, so it would be strange if other clubs didn't follow him.

"We know how football works. For now he is very happy to have won the Europa League with Atalanta, and he will focus on finishing Serie A well, given that Atalanta can still finish third. and then on the European Championship. That's all I can say for now."

The Liverpool ECHO says: It will be interesting to see what happens as regards the future of Koopmeiners. Having experienced what life is like in a Slot side, Koopmeiners may well be willing to reunite with his former boss. Liverpool could do with further improvements in their midfield department, ensuring this is a move that makes sense for the Reds.

Inacio claim

Similarly to Koopmeiners, Goncalo Inacio is a player Liverpool have been tipped to sign on more than one occasion.

The Sporting centre-back was heavily linked with an Anfield move last summer, though stayed put in Portugal and helped his club to the league title this term.

A latest report from Spain has suggested Inacio is '"interested" in a Premier League move, with Liverpool his "preferred destination".

The Liverpool ECHO says: With Joel Matip on his way out and there still being serious question marks over the form of Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool may well need to splash the cash this summer in order to find an upgrade on their current options in this area. Virgil van Dijk remains first-choice, though there is no obvious No.2 at present.

Brajan Gruda battle

Liverpool are set to battle it out with other clubs for the services of Mainz winger Brajan Gruda, it has been claimed.

The Albanian played a total of 29 times in all competitions for his current employers in 2023/24, scoring four goals and providing three assists to help the German club avoid relegation.

His performances don't appear to have gone unnoticed, with BILD via TEAMtalk stating the 19-year-old is a player in demand. The article suggests it is "realistic" Gruda could be on the move for €20m (£17m) this summer, which has also placed Bayer Leverkusen on alert.

The Liverpool ECHO says: Still somewhat of an unknown quantity, such a move would represent a risk for the Reds in the transfer market were a deal to come off. It may be worth monitoring Gruda's development for at least one more year before pressing on with an offer.
