What did you miss?

The Apprentice star Dr Asif Munaf was fired from the show this week after an intense showdown in the boardroom.

Last week he had put himself forward to be the PM in the boardroom, but his plan backfired and he ended up in the firing line this week when the task went wrong. The boys and girls groups were merged to form two new teams.

The Apprentice teams were then tasked with creating and filming a teaser for a video game. Dr Munaf's team failed to capture the attention of the investors who felt their idea was just absolutely "bonkers". One of the investors had said if the team said it was intentionally "bonkers" they would have given them an extra £100,000. However, the PM defended their idea as "realistic" in the pitch — meaning it didn't go down well.

In a stern moment, Lord Alan Sugar pulled Dr Munaf up in the boardroom for messing up the task. He told him: "In your CV you say you are good at everything. One thing I can see is that it looks like I've cured you here because you ain't good at this. Your escape was about as complicated as a one piece of jigsaw quite frankly."

Dr Munaf tried to defend himself saying he would like to bring back Onyeka Nweze to answer for the game being "rudimentary" and Sam Saadet for her lack of contribution to the task to which Lord Sugar said, "Who?"

Sam Saadet fought her corner saying she should not be brought back in for lack of contribution. "Are you having me on?" She said. "I've made massive contributions." Her plea then made Dr Munaf question his own choice as he cheekily asked Lord Alan Sugar if he could change his mind.

Lord Sugar probed to find out why he had a change of heart. "Why did you say to me can I change? Are you indecisive or what?"

"It's not indecisiveness," Dr Munaf disagreed.

However, Lord Sugar simply stated: "It must be."

Dr Munaf clarified, "I liked Sam's rebuttal." He then said he wanted to bring back Amina Khan instead of Saadet. But Lord Alan Sugar hauled them all back into the boardroom for a final grilling before firing Dr Munaf for the task's failings.

Dr Asif Munaf was thought to have filmed scenes for Your Fired at the weekend. The BBC has since confirmed Dr Asif Munaf would not be appearing on the spin-off show You're Fired.

A BBC spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the individual concerned will not feature as a guest on any additional upcoming BBC content relating to The Apprentice."

The Board of Deputies of British Jews shared a statement saying Dr Asif Munaf had been dropped from the spin-off show after its board's president had sent a letter to the BBC's director-general about Dr Munaf's alleged comments on social media.

They wrote: "Following the Board of Deputies President's urgent letter to the BBC Director-General Tim Davie and the BBC Chairman this morning, we have been notified that the BBC has significantly edited all content relating to BBC 2's You're Fired concerning Asif Munaf.

"We hope that the BBC will apologise publicly to the Jewish community for their handling of this sorry situation and send the people responsible for antisemitism awareness training."

Speaking out, Dr Asif Munaf broke the rules of the show revealing he was out of the process. He tweeted: "They did me dirty. The lobby pressured the broadcaster and they relented. This will only ignite a bigger flame in my belly. We have Him."
