The Piano winner Brad Kella has said he nearly "turned around and ran away" when he first set foot on the set for the reality series.

Congratulations were in order as the self-taught amateur pianist appeared on This Morning on Tuesday to discuss his win from the weekend. Viewers were in tears when Kella was announced as the winner on Sunday.

Feeling the nerves, the 22-year-old from Liverpool admitted now that he did have second thoughts about filming the TV show when he laid his eyes on Claudia Winkleman for the first time on the set. "I was thinking about should I turn around and run away?" He confessed.

Host Cat Deeley had opened the interview saying all the contestants were "dead nervous" ahead of the performances and Kella completely agreed that he was feeling "so nervous" when it came to taking part in the show.

He elaborated: "Obviously I've never really been in any televised situations before in my life so when I walked in... Seeing Claudia Winkleman's head above the piano. I was like, 'Oh no'.

"I was thinking about should I turn around and run away? But then the closer I got to the performance the more I thought why not? Try your best and let's see where it takes me."

Elsewhere in the interview, Kella thanked his family for throwing their support behind him and he had dedicated his performance to his foster parents Ev and Frank. "They all know the story and the journey that I've been through," he said. "I'm proud of my family, coming to support me, even off camera, they listen to me play, they always ask me to play."

The budding film score composer has set his sights on becoming one of the world's most famous composers in the musical spheres. He shared his hopes of paving the way to success by doing the reality show.

He said: "I genuinely believe one day I will be a world famous composer. I wouldn't have set myself up for this if I didn't think I had the potential for this, I want to work with the greats.

"I got so many ideas up here that I want to expose for the world. If someone wants to give me that opportunity. I can't wait to show them the potential. I have so much music I need to put out."
